PAKISTAN AND SECULAERISM

Date : May 3, 2010, Monday
PAKISTAN AND SECULARISM
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the first greatest political leader in Pakistan after Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Bhutto made the third stable and permanent constitution of Pakistan in 1973 when he was serving as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Bhutto entered Pakistan into Internal Two-Party Politics and founded Pakistan Peoples Party, the greatest political party of Pakistan after the Pakistan Muslim League, the founder political party of Pakistan. Although Pakistan was came into being as a result of the struggles of then All India Muslim League which was called Pakistan Muslim League after the establishment of Pakistan. Bhutto was a very genius, talented, competent and intelligent politician who invited all the Muslim Leaders of the world in Islamic Summit Conference at Lahore on a table to talk for the progress of Muslims across the world. The foreign powers especially America did not favour such policies of Bhutto to work efficiently for solving the problems of Muslim countries across the world. Therefore Bhutto was hanged to death in a false, fake and forged murder case. The sitting Prime Minister Bhutto was charged for murder a person and was trailed in the court. The Army dictator's composed Supreme Court of Pakistan even having no supporting documentary proves sentenced Bhutto for capital punishment. But by that capital punishment Bhutto's party was established and grew as a biggest and strongest political party of Pakistan. The Chief Marshal Law Administrator General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq ruled over Pakistan from 1977 to 1988 in the name of imposing Islamic System in Pakistan. But he could not succeed in implementation of Islamic Political System in the country. The founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had suggested the Parliamentary Democratic Political System for Pakistan which should be supposed as the orders of the founder of Pakistan. So thinking on the political democratic parliamentary system, Bhutto gets made the 1973 Constitution and established his own political party "Pakistan Peoples Party" to fight against Pakistan Muslim League in the country's general elections. The fate did not favour Mr. Bhutto like Mr. Jinnah. After the military trial of Zia-ul-Haq to convert Pakistan into Pure Islamic Country, the next military dictator General Pervez Musharraf on October 12, 1999 forcibly controlled over Pakistan to sake the elected Government of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and started his next trial to convert Pakistan towards Secular Country. The goal of Pervez Musharraf was to establish a new "Enlightened and Moderate Pakistan". He entered women in politics at local, provincial and national level. He announced one third women representation in the government. It was the first strong step of Pervez Musharraf to convert Pakistan into a Secular state. But he could do that because of the conflict and strong opposition of the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhry. He also had to leave the office of the President of Pakistan. Pakistan Peoples Party once again won general elections 2008 and established its government in Islamabad, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah and Balochistan provinces. PPP also established its government in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Now Pakistan has been very hardly saved and escaped to become a secular government but it is now running towards right path of parliamentary democratic government. The people from some of the areas are demanding to make a few other provinces. I think that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will soon overcome this issue with national consensus. This PPP government will complete its five years tenure in my opinion. The next government in Islamabad may be Pakistan Muslim League's government. Another political party from Sindh MQM (Mutahida Qaumi Movement) has also a hope from the people of Punjab now that they would vote to MQM in next upcoming Local Government Elections. They have got success in holding MQM Punjab convention in three major cities Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan. Althogh MQM is the coalition partner of PPP government in Central and Sindh governments. It was a reason that they were allowed and supported to hold its first big convention in the largest populated province Punjab. In my opinion, Pakistan should not be converted to secular state or country. It should be worked as Democratic Parliamentary Country. The 18th Amendment in the constitution 1973 has made it the permanent, stable, firm, strong and an established Democratic Parliamentary Country. I pray that Allah (God) may protect, shelter and defend our Pakistan from enemies' eyes. (Aameen, Summa Aameen, Allah Humma Aameen).
